The National Spades Championship Presents The Veteran’s Ball
The largest spades tournament in America and some of Urban Ballroom’s best DJ’s, instructors & dancers will unite to take over Atlanta to honor the service of U.S. Veterans. ‘There’s so many military Veterans in our dance community that it simply made sense to have an event focused on celebrating them,’ says aka Taajah. ‘Every since we made the announcement about the event, we’ve been inundated with interest and excitement. We’re so elated and surprised to hear the input from our Veterans! So many people were ready to go to the The Veteran’s Ball this year. Unfortunately, due to COVID, we pushed it back to 2022, but we do have something special planned for our Veterans in the dance community in 2021!’
The National Spades Championship presents The Veteran’s Ball. It’s being held November 10-13, 2022 in Atlanta, Georgia. The host hotel is the beautiful Doubletree Suites by Hilton, Atlanta-Galleria. The hotel is less than a 5 minute walk from the new, Atlanta Braves stadium. Rooms have already been blocked and everyone can make their room reservations beginning November 2021.
Americans may not agree on many things. As a matter of fact, we disagree on a lot. However, once a year, on Veteran’s Day, Americans come together to recognize those who have served in our military. ‘Less than 10% of Americans volunteer to serve in our nation’s military. Many people don’t realize that military service members give up certain rights so that citizens can keep their rights. We, Veterans, have earned a day to be recognized,’ says Goddess.
Detroit Ballroomers, Chicago Steppers, DFW Swingouters, Line Dancers and more will converge upon Atlanta to present each Veteran with a token of appreciation. You don’t have to be an urban ballroom dancer to attend, you just have to want to celebrate Veterans or be celebrated as a Veteran. Besides, their will be Saturday workshops to teach you various dance styles.
The Veteran’s Ball is composed of a committee of promoters, dancers and instuctors. Everyone from the DJ’s to instructors were handpicked to include some of the best of the best. Each DJ has a wealth of musical selections and every instructor is well versed in the style(s) they’re teaching. The early bird/fire sale starts on 10202021. With a limited number of early bird tickets, GODDESS and her team are expecting an immediate influx.
