Fort Lauderdale, FL, USA – This #NationalBowtieDay, Bowtie Kids will celebrate courage and confidence for kids with chronic pain by hosting its 2nd Annual Tie The Knots fundraising event.

#TieTheKnots is an event that harnesses the collective power of individuals, community and organizations to encourage and support the empowerment of kids with chronic pain as they live their childhood experience. #TieTheKnots will take place on #NationalBowtieDay, August 28th, just days before Chronic Pain Awareness Month begins in September. Join us at TGM Harbor Beach from 5:30pm – 7:30pm to Tie The Knot and improve the lives of children. The event will include a raffle, silent auction, food and music, PLUS winners of our online Tie the Knots bowtie contest will be revealed LIVE!

“At Bowtie Kids – Courage & Confidence for Kids with Chronic Pain, we define chronic pain as an unbearable constant physical pain that limits and interferes with the childhood experience. Knowing firsthand how isolating and disruptive chronic can be to one’s life, helping kids say YES to recess on the playground, YES to birthday parties with their friends, and YES to family fun nights, is our ultimate goal. Wearing a bowtie is a powerful statement, it’s about being courageously confident! Bowtie Kids works to design a space where children and families impacted by chronic pain can create these very same positive feelings about life,” said Karen Prescod, Founder & Visionary of #BowtieKids and Chief Statement Maker of The Bowtie Gurl.

Education and support programming are where Bowtie Kids step in to say YES. “Children with chronic pain have reduced social relationships and are 3x more likely to have symptoms of anxiety and depression than children without pain,” stated Rachael Coakley Ph.D.
