First Nations people from Grassy Narrows continue to suffer the effects of mercury poisoning 40 years after commercial fishing ended in the region. Members of the trans community are often placed in prisons that don’t match their gender identity despite promises of change from the Liberal government.

To help fundraise for Water First, a non-profit focused on training Aboriginal communities in water science as well as TransLife a suicide prevention and outreach centre in Canada; popular political comedy duo ‘The Serfs’ will be running a charity stream on the weekend of Oct 18th 2019 as part of an official Amazon Twitch partnered event.

A collection of the biggest names in political entertainment will be guests including Michael Brooks, Hasan Piker, Cody Johnston, Dan Arrows, Ben Burgis, Willnef, Jamie Peck, David Doel, Peter Coffin, Big Joel, and Mia Mulder.

“The entire event will be run by Ripley Violet, a trans activist responsible for the Chelsea Manning fundraising stream earlier this year.”
