The Ache of Healing: 105 Sonnets of Love and Contemplation by Christine Maalouf Abi Najm is a book of poems that is divided into four categories. The four categories are Roses and Prickles, Spirits and Souls, Places and Contemplation. She uses these to show different types of love and personalities as well as places and healing from hate. Christine Maalouf Abi Najm uses rhythm and rhyme to share her stories. It is a book of poems about pain, but also hope. She uses pictures and world-building as well to help share her story.

“I loved how The Ache of Healing by Christine Maalouf Abi Najm uses categories to separate the types of poem. I thought it made them easier to understand. The cadence and rhyme made this a very relaxing read. The number of sonnets sounds like a lot, but these went at a nice pace. I was able to finish the book in one evening, which I loved. Christine Maalouf Abi Najm does a wonderful job of showing the pain. Even though she writes about war and cheating, she still shows you there is hope. I really loved that. I cannot choose a favorite, but I loved all the four-season ones the best, such great world-building. I liked that I was able to relate to much of it, and this made it seem more personal to me. Christine Maalouf Abi Najm also did a great job explaining what the book is about and what she wanted from it. If you like to ponder on life, death, and love, this is an excellent choice.”
